The new plug-in for Autodesk Inventor offers Adept 5 users the ability to view
Inventor parts, assemblies and their relationships inside Adept. It also allows
quick searching of Inventor properties inside Adept as well as bi-directional
Inventor property support. </p>
<p>Adept pull down menus and tool bars with easy-to-access searching, sign-in
and sign-out capabilities are now available within the Autodesk Inventor interface
so that users can access critical document management functionality from within
their design automation tool. </p>
<p>The Adept runtime integration with Inventor commands provides advanced intelligence
for resolving Inventor parts and assemblies at runtime.This feature also helps
clients track and manage revision of part and assemblies as well as "Where
Used" functionality. </p>
<p>Adept delivers 3D Inventor viewing support for cross-departmental sharing of
Inventor models, eliminating the need for Inventor to be installed on the local
workstation.</p>
<h2>Microsoft Word & Excel Property Extraction with Adept </h2>
<p>You can set up Microsoft Office properties in Word or Excel that will be automatically
imported into Adept when you sign in the file. Using this method, you can keep
your database updated automatically using information that is already entered
into your documents. </p>
<p>The Microsoft Office Properties dialog box already includes a number of predefined
properties such as Author and NumPages. In addition to these predefined properties
you can also define your own Custom Properties. Microsoft Word allows you to
link your Custom Properties with Fields. Microsoft Excel allows you to link
your Custom Properties with named cells. </p>
<p>Using this powerful feature, you can create forms and spreadsheets that let
users enter data, and when the document is signed in to Adept, the user-entered
data is automatically imported into Adept. </p>
